Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – Recognizing today’s fast paced-world, wherein every second counts and multitasking is the norm, government and private sector agencies have come-up with an innovative approach that allows fisherfolks to learn new technologies without them leaving their place of work.
Dubbed as “Fishery School on the Air” (SOA), this alternative extension methodology, says Dr. Dalisay Fernandez of the Los Banos-based Philippine Council for Aquatic and Marine Research and Development, is a free educational program promoting fishery technologies.
Fishery SOA is a series of canned radio programs on topics such as tilapia, mudcrab, pompano, lapu-lapu, apahap and Pacific white shrimp culture; and on coastal resource management.
