Pilmico Holds Backyard Raisers Congress
Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporation solely sponsored the 3rd Backyard Congress last April 10, 2010 at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Davao City with the theme “The Diamond Program for Profitable Pork Production”. The event was the culmination of the 19th Hog Convention and Trade Exhibits organized by the Pork Producers Federation of the Philippines (ProPork).
The event started with a motorcade from Magsaysay Street to the Bangko Sentral ng Filipinas in Davao City. Joining the caravan was ProPork President Albert T. Lim.
The congress was formally opened by Hendel P. Cabral, Pilmico Vice President for Sales and Marketing. Welcome addresses were given by ProPork President Albert T. Lim, BAI Director Davino Catbagan and Congress Chairman Eliseo Yu. The federation presented a plaque of appreciation to Pilmico for their sponsorship to the Hog Convention and for their solo sponsorship of the Backyard Congress.
The congress was divided into four sessions which represent the four pillars of the Diamond Program: Sound Management, Excellent Breeding, Excellent Nutrition and Feeding and Complete Health Care.
Sound Management which aims to achieve better productivity from available resources such as feeds, facilities, housing and medicines was spearheaded by Dr. Jesus Vuelban – Pilmico’s Veterinary Services and Technical Officer for VisMin. Excellent Breeding imparted lessons to identify the characteristics and select the right breeds of pigs which was led by GeneTransCo’s Neil Barry, guest resource speaker. Excellent Nutrition and Feeding discussed the right feeding program and system which was discussed by Joana Mae Jayson – Pilmico’s Nutrition Services and Training Officer for Vismin. Complete Health Care preventive measures that help promote wellness of the animal that was led by Dr. Serge Tan – Pilmico’s Regional Sales Business Manager for Farm Accounts in Luzon.
Due to the thick crowd that filled the mini theater, Pilmico has to set up 4 panels with live streaming outside the seminar hall as well as in the booth. The integration part at the end of the seminar when the floor was opened for questions became a testimonial exchange as participants delivered remarks praising the good performance of Pilmico products including its value added services.
“Taste the Lechong Pilmico” spiced the event more as guests dished up to experience it.
