I am now on my 10th year of harvesting 4 varieties of durian, monthong ,chanee, UP gold and kanyao.
I am regularly selling my produce directly to consumers at weekend markets in FTI and Greenhills. I also sell to retailers within Metro Manila.
I am totally committed to organic farming. I also have Duko, ang Longkong and native lanzones. Last year
Out of the first 17 trees of Duko I harvested more than 500kl and very sweet. I am not a professional farmer but loves farming.
Now we are also selling seedlings of rambutan, durian ,lansones and other fruit trees that we have in our farm. I am willing to share my experience and share ideas with other fruit farms like us.

Hello:

Originally from Malaysia but now a Californian, I've 20 acres in Toledo District, Belize. This falls in the same climatic zone as the Philippines.

I intend to grow 3-year cropping durian & mangosteen,much longer, I'm afraid.
They were grown back of the house where I came from.
Do you have seedlings?
I remember, as a child, all our backyard fruits were grown from seeds.

Your advice is much appreciated.

Thank,
Peter

Hello Sir Greg Tan. I am also interested in growing pomelo.
I have some queries:
1. I would like to know what variety are the pomelos you have in your farm?
2. I would like to know what variety is the rootstock you are using in propagation.
3. I would like to buy few ready to plant grafted pomelo seedlings...and how much is the cost per planting material?
Hope to hear for yuour reply soon...
Thanks and Best Regards

I was looking up information on how to plant durian (just as a house plant) from a seed as I live in the US right now,- and your article was one of the sites that came up on my Google search. As a filipina,( and having lived in Mindanao myself), I was most impressed to learn of the extra effort you made to switch to organic methods and am glad it has paid off for you. Do you know if there are many growers like you in the Philippines now? Is the organic movement growing in the country ? I really hope there are many others like you and am glad that you wrote this article which encourages others to follow your example. Mabuhay!
