French Firms in Agrilink 2008

LE Club, the French Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, led by its Vice President Michel Hermelin, organized eight European agribusiness firms to join this year’s Agrilink, Foodlink, and Aqualink.

On its fifth consecutive year of participation in the annual event, Le Club’s famous French Pavilion will feature eight diverse agricultural and food innovators-from the basic water supply and wind power technologies to the more intricate genealogical genetic selection machineries. The companies that will be featured are Bayle SA, Dosatron, Grimaud Freres Selection, Richel, Sasso, Solraya, Vergnet Hydro and Stolz.

Bayle SA is a leading manufacturer of poultry processing equipment since 1931 and their range of machines goes from bird handling to cut-up equipment.

Meanwhile, Dosatron, which was founded in i974 is now Europe’s undisputed leader in the field of water powered proportional dosing technology and ISO 9001 certified by the AFAQ (French Quality Assurance Organization).

The expertise of Grimaud Freres Selection in the genealogical genetic selection, reproduction and marketing of healthy animals equipped with the best potential has made them wellknown across France.

Richel Group has more than fifty years of experience in the field of glass greenhouses and garden-centers. By optimizing the use of steel, glass and aluminum, their range of glass greenhouses offers maximum luminosity.

Created in 1978 by the leading French label poultry producers and located since 1983 in the Landes de Gascogne, Sasso’s unique objective has been to satisfy the demands of the sector by selecting the best sanitary conditions

and strains capable of producing high quality poultry.

Solraya is the local breeder and distributor of Solraya’s Sunshine free ranged chicken (bonafide Fi Day Old Chicks from parent stocks imported from France). They specialize on dressed sunshines and eggs from grass-fed hens.

Vergnet Hydro, France’s only manufacturer of wind turbines, has earned its place as the leader in mid-range windpower generation on the market with its original technology of twin-bladed aerogenerators, which can be tilted down in less than one hour in the event of a cyclonic alert, while Stolz, which specializes in feed and food processing technologies is the present European leader in powder and granules handling and processing.

Le Club, which used to merely be an association holding French social gatherings has become the French Business Association (FBA). It has also helped other French companies find their niche in the Philippine market through different trade fairs like Agrilink. And on their fifth year of participation, Hermelin said, “This is the best way to help introduce French companies to Philippine business.”
