Fil-Am Foods’ Farmers Edge Inaugurates New Feedmill with Senator Mar Roxas

In the bag of feed comes a handful of hope for Mindanao to rise to its full potential. Senator Mar Roxas, champion of real people’s real concern takes pride in bagging a hog feed during the inauguration of Pilmico Foods Corporation’s new feed mill facility at Kiwalan, Iligan City last September 4, 2008.

In his speech during the inauguration, he said, “There is hope in Mindanao”, words from a senator who envisions economic development in the south.

Also, in his brief TV interview he told ABS-CBN that what is, lacking in Mindanao is capital and investors to establish business in the area thereby creating more jobs, more income for the people, and if Mindanao is to have ecozone free port like what Subic and Clark have then this would be an added incentive to the investors to put up business.

In addition, Antonio Moraza, PFC President and CEO said that the new feed mill and silo farm would translate to 10,000 hectares planted with raw materials required by the plant. This will make the farmers and its linkages busy.

With the new development in pork exportation to Singapore lead by Matutum Meat Packing Corporation located in South Mindanao, Pilmico Foods Corporation will take part in ensuring that there’s quality animal feeds available in the market to meet the demands for hogs through Farmer’s Edge Animal Feeds.

Indeed, the presence of the new feed mill will not only deliver high performing cost effective feeds to animal farmers but also pave way in the creation of more jobs for its immediate community.

PFC’s subsidiary, Fil-Am Foods, Inc. (FFI) is the manufacturer of the feed brand Farmer’s Edge. It provides the technical expertise in running the new Iligan feed mill facility and in marketing the feeds.

FFI has been continuously supplying high-nutrition quality feeds, sound animal nutrition advice and superior piglets to hog-raisers nationwide. Its commercial feed manufacturing plant located at Sto. Domingo II, Capas, Tarlac addresses the needs of hog and poultry raisers in Luzon. It also has a swine breeding and finishing farm operation in Capas, Tarlac.
